Dress Code
At Legacy Performing Arts, dress code is part of being prepared for class. Proper dancewear helps dancers move safely, allows teachers to see alignment and technique, and keeps our classes consistent and professional.
Dancers should arrive dressed and ready for class each week with correct shoes, hair secured, and all needed items labeled.
Where to Purchase Dress Code Items
Required dress code items can be purchased through our Legacy Performing Arts Nimbly shop:
https://www.shopnimbly.com/LegacyLC
On Nimbly, families will find the exact required colors, shoes, and styles listed for each specific class.
Families may also purchase dress code items elsewhere, as long as the items match the approved colors, shoes, and styles listed for the dancer’s class.
We also recommend our Legacy dance bag and Legacy dance jacket for the season.
Legacy merch can be purchased here:

General Dress Code Rules:
All dancers should follow these rules for every class:
Hair must be pulled up neatly and securely - buns for ballet class, and ponytails for other styles
Dancers should wear solid colors and avoid patterns/prints. Legacy merch is allowed if it matches the dress code style.
No jewelry.
No street shoes inside the dance studios.
Dance shoes should not be worn outside.
Dancers should bring a small dance bag.
All shoes, bags, and water bottles should be labeled.
Water only is allowed in studio spaces.
No food, gum, soda, sticky drinks, toys, large bags, or unnecessary items in the dance rooms.
